Bear Doll

Somewhere around the first birthday, a baby works out that things come off. The sock. The shoe you just put on. It isn’t mischief — it’s discovery, and it’s serious work, and it’s wonderful to watch.

This bear is made for exactly that. His overalls come off — straps, buttons and all — so small hands can pull them away and wrestle them back on, the slow important labour of a one-year-old learning what their own fingers can do.

He stands about 25 cm tall, warm taupe in green-and-white striped overalls, sleepy-eyed and patient through every attempt. There’s a small tulip embroidered on his front — easy to miss, the kind of thing a child finds on their own. The yarn is Oeko-Tex certified cotton — nothing in it that shouldn’t be near a baby you love.
