Bunny Rattle

Most rattles are made to be shaken once and set down. This one was made to be kept.

I think of it less as a rattle and more as a first companion — the small friend a baby reaches for before they have words for why. The sound is barely there, a gentle shush somewhere inside, soft enough that finding it feels like a secret only they know.

A bunny with long, soft ears and the quietest sleeping face, cream through the body with a band of soft teal at the legs. At around 13 cm, it sits in one small hand, tucks under an arm, comes along for the nap and the car ride and all the uncertain in-between. The yarn is Oeko-Tex certified cotton — nothing in it that shouldn’t be against the softest skin.

And on one leg, a small embroidered tulip. The detail a child finds later — the one that says someone made this on purpose.
